D-Day

So, it's official! My sister and her family have their plane tickets and they are coming FOR REAL! They arrive on November 10th, 2006! They will stay with us for a few weeks while they find a place to live. This is just so surreal and so exciting! They have gone through so much red tape to get to this point. We just pray that the SA currency, the Rand stays where it is until they come out here. They got their passports with their visas, except Ruth's visa was in Kevin's passport and vice-versa! Seriously?? So funny, thankfully it only took 2 days to correct. I guess I can't laugh to hard, lets not forget my first greencard said 'MALE". Anyway, this photo is actually a South African beach where all the cute little penguins live. The kind that was nearly run over in 50 First Dates. I know, I know, gorgeous beaches, who would want to leave those? But they don't live on the gorgeous beaches, they live in a city where they are petrified to drive home at night, in case someone in lurking in the bushes waiting to hi-jack them. The crime rate has risen, and Dr's all over the world do their ER training at JoBurg as what they see there in 3 months is the equivalent of 3 yrs somewhere else. Praise the Lord they are leaving those gorgeous beaches and coming to Southern Orange County, where we boast Dana Point, San Clemente, Laguna Beach and Newport Beach....not too shabby!

Yeah! So my vote is that when your folks are ready to make the move, they'll need help since their babies will all be here now. hmmmm....who better to help them move out here than a couple of yanks wanting to fly there, see a couple pretty beaches (& table mountain) & then bring their friend's folks back home with them. Yeah!

I'm Lovin' your plan!!! Although, if you went there, you'd need a South african with No sense of direction, but a sense of fun..who married a yank with a GREAT sense of direction and FUN...to give you the tour! We could then ALL make a great exodus out of Africa to the "U.S. of A."

Thank you for visiting my blog...
Have a wonderful time with your sister...Looking forward to reading about the plans..
and I am a bit worried now after reading your blog, as my male friend, Dr. Jekyle, the cysclist, I mentioned in my blog is going to cycle through china, through the far east and then end his journey cycling through Africa...
He will have then cycled the entire world...
I wish he was going to Laguna Beach...

Thanks Pendullum for visiting mine!
Your freind should be fine...it's a beautiful land and he'll have the most amazing time. There are just certain areas to stay away from - as there are anywhere in the world really! I hope he has a great time!
