Coming to America!

The Lord has performed yet another miracle! My wonderful sister Ruth, her amazing hubby Kevin and their adorable little girls are MOVING HERE!!!!
Kevin's work application was accepted and he can "officially" start work on October 1st! They will move in September probably! We are just so thrilled they will be able to start a new life here and we will be able to be a part of it!
Praise the Lord! Please keep them and my folks in your prayers as this will be a tough transition, but worth it in the end!

Breakfast of Champions!

My dear friend Cate wanted to know what I had for breakfast, since, that was the little stuff my family could enjoy reading about! Well, this story starts when I was little, living in Zimbabwe! The land of gorgeous sunsets, friendly people, amazing simplicity in life AND awful cereal! I'm not kidding, it was disgusting! The stuff we had for breakfast growing up was called Pronutro. It was the "Breakfast of Champions". One bowl equaled about 3 eggs, 2 slices of toast & several slices of bacon. It looked more like saw dust though! My dad and my sister just LOVED the stuff, couldn't get enough of it. In fact, they would often have 2 bowls in the morning! My sister was an extraordinary athlete, in fact she often won the Victoria Ludorum on sports day (Latin term for Champion Athlete). Thats probably why she enjoyed it... it kept her going and going!
Well, because of their love for this so called cereal, my mom couldn't understand why I just could NOT swallow the stuff. She thought I was just being difficult. So, I had to sit at the table swirling it around, until I eventually finished it. This happened EVERY morning and breakfast turned into quite the ordeal. One day, years later, my wonderful mom tasted some Pronutro for the first time and almost threw up!!!! She apologized empathically to me and said that I could have WHAT EVER I wanted for breakfast from that day forth, so I had a fried egg and toast every morning!
Well, I still haven't gotten to the Cherrios yet, but that was basically to let you know, we didn't have Cherrios growing up! Not as in our house didn't have Cheerios, I mean, our country didn't have them!
I hadn't had one untill I came to the States and even then, I only had them last year for the first time. They just didn't look appealing so I never tried them. Well, a few months ago, I discovered Trader Joes Berry O's. They have dried Strawberries, Blueberries & Raspberries. You should try them!! It s a wonderful way to start your day and each bite is a surprise and delicious!!!! Who knew there was so much to write about regarding breakfast!

Joy of Blogging

I always wanted a blog. At least as long as they've been around. I thought it would be a fun way to journal daily thoughts, adventures, funny stories etc...but reading others is fun, writing your own is HARD! I get so nervous before I post a blog, thats why i haven't in a while! It seems it should be about something really important, but I don't have every day important things to contribute to the world. So, instead it's going to just be ramblings about nothing important or of significance. But, maybe thats the joy of blogging -it lets others into your world without any pomp or circumstance, it just lets them into your every day life. And whats more fun for family across the seas to read the mundane, like what i had for breakfast. I guess I'll just answer that...having breakfast with them!
