Sailing & Catalina

Last weekend Mom (H), Ruth and I went to Kingsburg for the Swedish Festival! We had a great time and some really good laughs! We found some really fun things, esp for the little girls! I got them some handmade wooden Dala Horses that we will paint during our next art project. As Ruth said, she didn't want to get them something she could find in Orange County, so we tried to look for "ethnic" things!
We leave at 5am-ish and it's a 4 hour drive, so it's a pretty long day. The guys take advantage of that the last couple of times have sailed to Catalina for the weekend. The first 2 photos are from Steve and his Dad's trip there. They saw thousands of dolphins on the way there, and they also got a private tour of the island and saw jsut how much of it burnt in the recent fires. The guys had a great time and now that they have done this trip a couple of times, I feel like I'm ready to go with Steve and stay a few nights! So, we're going to plan a trip over there! I'm excited and nervous! I think it will be a lot of fun, a lot of work, romantic and an adventure! The 3rd photo is from yesterday when we went sailing with Steve's folks. Ruth and Kevin were having a picnic with their nieghbors at Salt Creek and very nicely waited to take pictures as we sailed by...VERY slowly, as the wind just died! So, thats us on the boat! It was a fun time, and if I wasn't wearing my contacts, I could have totally taken a nice little nap on the boat!!
